Getting back on the horse

You know that feeling when you have a white piece of paper in front of you. The one where you see what you want to do in your head but to make the first mark is terrifying. (n.b. this ramble also applies to blank work area in adobe suite).

That's where I am right now. About to be laid off from the job I took to keep my family's head above water. Now with a wee man to care for and feeling out of practice, with a month to find gainful employment. 

So what's a person to do apart from make the first mark and hope something good comes out of it
